Job Application Project This course has largely been about challenging the way that you think and finding better models of thinking that are more effective. We are going to take that same approach and apply it to a different problem, job applications. The scenario: Earlier in the semester we had a guest lecture from the President of Trout River Industries. I want you to do some research on the company (look at their website, look for them on the internet, check youtube for them etc) an application for a job at the company. Which job? You can either pick a job that you exists in a company like this e.g. HR specialist, Marketing, Accounting, Engineer or pick a job that would suit your strengths e.g. Social Media Expert, Tik Tok Consultant, Data Analyst, Evidence Based Management Analyst etc. What then? Write a cover letter and CV for the position. Your cover letter: The cover letter should be 1 (or at most 2 pages) long and should demonstrate that you understand the company and its challenges and that you can help the company move forward. It should also include details about some of your relevant skills. Your CV: I want the style of resume that you submit to have a narrative (a story about why the company should hire you) that can be understood in less than 20 seconds.
