1. Establish X and R charts (i.e. calculate the control limits) for (breaking) strength quality characteristic and draw the control charts. Is there evidence that the process is in control?
2. Estimate the process average and process standard deviation .
3. Is the process capable of producing jars with a breaking strength between 185 and 325 psi? In other words, calculate the potential capability of the process Cp and the actual process capabilities Cpu, Cpl and Cpk. Comment on the results.
