In this task you will produce a critical reflection that asks you to consider reflective practice . Here, critical reflection asks you to \' consider how you are situated within broader social and institutional contexts, and to identify assumptions that you have not been aware of, challenging questions and issues\', and reflective practice is \'when you reflect on the relationship between practice in your area of study, and the theories you are being introduced to. The issue you will asked to consider in this reflection is the experiences of Indigenous young people in the juvenile justice system, which we will examine in detail in Topic 6 of the subject. We will examine the issues of Indigenous over-representation, and the experiences of Indigenous young people in the juvenile justice system. We will also examine the well publiciused case of the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in the Northern Territory, and the well publicised incidents that occurred there in 2016.
