ABC Ltd is a construction material manufacturing company, finds out that a part required for the production of a product is not available(stoped manufacturing). The product designer advises the purchasing clerk of the part and the product it is required for. The purchasing clerk identifies possible replacements for the part. The purchasing clerk revert with one of the following alternatives:

1. Replacement material has been identified and shares the details of the material
2. Original material can be sourced from a different vendor/supplier
3. Not possible to replace the material

If a replacement material is found, the product designer enters the new material into master data and creates a new BOM (bill of materials) for the product.

If the material is available from a different Vendor/supplier, the product designer advises the purchasing clerk if the alternate supplier is good or not.

If it is not possible to replace the material, the production planning manager is advised that production of the product is no longer possible because raw material/alternative material is not available.
