Introduction
In the past lab exercises students have learned how to determine voltage, current, and
power in AC circuits by following step-by-step procedures. In this lab, students are
presented with a more realistic problem in which they must determine the procedure to
follow using the techniques acquired in the past labs.
Procedure
Given the circuit below, determine the time expressions for voltage and current at each one
of the elements, and demonstrate that the power absorbed/stored by the circuit is equal to
the power supplied. Determine the power factor of the circuit. Use similar component
values if there are no components available with the values provided.
Document your procedure. Consider the effect of the internal resistance of the inductor.
Use sensing resistors as needed. Use tables to consolidate your data. Confirm your results
through calculations and simulations.. THIS WILL BE THE PRELAB
