LAB1(Design Network and IP Addressing using Packet Tracer, 10 Marks)
Lab Objectives
1. Designing Network and Assigning IPS.
2. Basic Network Subnetting.
3. Establishing Connectivity across the network.
4. Configuring Static/Default Routes or Dynamic Routing.
208.78.23.8/?
LAB Configuration Requirements (What to do ...?)
1. Design the following Network using packet tracer.
2. Subnet the following Network 208.78.23.8/? Using VLSM and assign good IPs to all networks.
Use last page for this subnetting. You will determine the subnet mask based on your subnetting and network that is given. If you need help ask the Instructor. Chose the ports you want on packet tracer.
You can use cross cables between routers instead of serials.
3. Make sure there is connectivity across network.
4. If there is no connectivity, where would be the problem and how to solve it? Think about Routes!
5. Save your configuration and show them to the Instructor. You can also screenshot your configurations.
Answer the Following Questions:
1. How many networks we have in this design and how many collosion domains? (2Marks)
Answer- There are 6 networks we have designed in the given topology.
There are 3 collision domains in the given topology. The switch breaks the collision domains.
2. Can we accommodate this topology using FLSM? Explain? (2Marks)
Answer- FLSM can't use as different subnets have a different count of host IPs. If we use it there will be more loss of packets to us. VLSM is best to use to allocate IPs efficiently.
3. What are the Network IDS, Broadcast IDS and Host IPS of each network? (2 Marks)
4. Connectivity is OK, Show to the Instructor that you can ping from all PCS? Take a screenshot of the successful ping.
(2Marks)
5. Show the Routing Table of each Router? (2Marks)
Router1 Router2 Router3 Router4
