Answer the following questions:

1. Using HCUPNET, Use a website to perform a new data analysis to determine the proportion of asthma patients that paid by Medicaid for 2009 using DRGs to sort.
   1. Create a new analysis with DRGs for asthma

   2. Sort the results on the left column to find children only that paid by Medicaid

3. Use a website to perform a new data analysis to determine the top 3 DRGs for patients in Texas, CA and NY for 2011.
   1. What are the top DRG for Texas, CA, and NY?
      1. TX and CA 795 Normal NB,

   2. Are they the same?

1. Use a website to perform a new data analysis to determine the trend in discharges for Septicemia using the CCS database.
   1. What is the trend for septicemia for the last decade reported for all discharges?
   2. What is the trend for those admitted through the ED?
      1. Hint: After adding the admission source, create the graph and change the row.

2. Click on: Use a website to perform a new data analysis , Use Inpatient
3. Click on: Trends, stats about specific conditions.
4. Click on: Diagnoses grouped by Clinical Classification Software (CCS)
5. Enter 'asthma' in the search blank and click Search
6. Select CCS 128 Asthma
7. Click on: Create analysis
8. On the left, Change the 'Focus on subgroups' and/or outcomes measures and/or admission source, to create the graphs and answer the questions below.for children only and those admitted through the ED.
   1. What is the trend in the number of discharges?
   2. What is the trend in the proportion admitted through the ED?
