Lab Description:
A PLC will control a MANUAL washer machine with three temperature settings (Cold, Med, Hot).
Description of Sequence of Operation:
a. Select the setting for the temperature of the water with a 3-position selector switch.
- POS 1(I:1/5)= Cold water
- POS 2(No inputs)= Warm water
- Pos \(3(\mathrm{I}: 1/6)=\) Hot water
b. To start the cycle press the momentary PB \#1(I:1/7). Turn ON the indicating light (O:2/10) while the washing cycle is running, turn the light OFF when the cycle is complete.
c. When the cycle starts, open the corresponding water valves. For Cold water activate output O:2/5. For Hot water activate output O:2/6 and for warm water activate both outputs.
Keep the water valve open until the N.C. high level water sensor I:1/11\(=0\).
d. To start the motor and the washing cycle, activate the output \(\mathrm{O}: 2/2\). It is required that the door is closed (\(\mathrm{I}: 1/3=1\)). If the door is opened, the motor (\(\mathrm{O}: 2/2\)) stops temporarily until the door is close.
e. After 25 seconds, the washing cycle ends.
f. Then activate the output O:2/4 to open the water outlet valve, maintain the motor O:2/2"ON".
g. Stop all the outputs when no water is detected \((\mathrm{I}: 1/10=0)\), meaning turn OFF the indicating light, stop the motor \(\mathrm{O}: 2/2\) and close the water outlet valve (O:2/4).
In your design take any other issues into considerations, like safety, etc.
Requirements:
Design a PLC based system to control the automatic machine and perform the task described above. Detail of the design will be specified on the lab.
