Lab Project Title: Course Technology Platform Selection & Access Tools Needed for this Course

ESTIMATED TIME: $1$ hour

PURPOSE: The purpose of this project is to:

$$ PART A: select a technology platform for students to use in this course for seven hands$-$

on Lab Projects $($OPTIONS are either their own computer or the ASU$$s online Apporto

Desktop as a Service$),$ and

$$ PART B: assure student access to tools that are needed for this course.

OVERVIEW:

PART A: Student will determine if they want to use their own equipment for hands$-$on project

work OR use ASU$$s Desktop as a Service $($DaaS$)$ in this course.

$$ OPTION $1($BYOD$)$: Use your own computer with Windows $10$ operating system $($or

newer$)$ with the following requirements:

o able to run Hyper$-$V feature

o Intel i$5+$ CPU

o $16$G$+$ RAM

o $200$ G$+$ of disk space

o NIC card

$$ OPTION $2($Apporto$)$: Use ASU$$s Desktop as a Service $($DaaS$)$ Apporto Virtual Lab through

Canvas

o Internet Access

o Browser

PART B: Student will perform a series of checks to make sure that they have access to:

$1.$ Screen capture method or screen snipping tool.

$2.$ Browser to use throughout course.

$3.$ Apporto Desktop as a Service $($DaaS$)$ for access to AWS environment with Windows

Server via the Canvas Classroom.
