To calculate unknown forces in a coplanar force system using the

equations of equilibrium.

A ball with a mass of $4\mathrm{.}8$ kg is held near the top of a ramp by a vertic

stopper as shown in $($Figure $1).$ The ramp makes an angle $=25$

with the horizontal. The surfaces are all smooth, so there are no

friction forces.
