Avenue retail location. As a Tesla Advisor, you

are tasked with providing effective and engaging conversations with prospective

customers to educate them on the benefits of [your] electric cars (Glassdoor). Your store

received correspondence from head office: you are to run a Test-Drive Live! session so

that prospective customers can test drive the Model S, a car that was designed with

performance in mind. It is completely electric, and comes with autopilot capabilities, and

provides a safe and exciting new way to drive.

Its the autopilot part that your manager is worried about (among a lot of other things,

actually)! Youve just received the company-wide email from Elon Musk regarding safety,

and your manager is not sure how your store will be able to guarantee the safety of either

the prospective customers or her staff in a test-drive scenario. There were no instructions

given regarding how the event should be held, or any safety precautions that should be

taken.

As Elon has invited anyone and everyone to email him regarding all concerns to enhance

company efficiency, you decide to help your manager by writing an email to Elon Musk,

asking him about the finer details of the event.

Your manager is very anxious and has been muttering questions to herself all week. You

want to ask the ones that matter the most. Shes been wondering about how the flow of

customers can be controlled, as there will definitely not be enough time for everyone to try

out the cars. If there are crowds, what will happen? She also wants to know how the test

drive will go: obviously, youll have to have a staff member accompany each test drive, but

how much information should the staff member give to the customer? Should the customer

be allowed to engage the autopilot function, for instance? Also, what happens in the event

of an accident? What measures should be taken to prevent them and what will happen if

one happens? How long should sessions last?

Thats a lot of stuff. You will have to organize these questions in a way that makes sense,

and phrase them in a way that will help you to receive the answers you need.

Your Task

Write an email addressed to Elon Musk on behalf of your store and manager. Describe as

much as the situation as you think he will need to know, and ask the most relevant

questions related to the running of this event.
