Locate a tax treaty between the United States and a foreign country. These are available through RIA Checkpoint and through www.irs.gov. Once you have selected a treaty, you will need to answer the following questions: 

1. The name of the country whose treaty you have selected. 

2. When the treaty was ratified and the date of any amendments. 

3. Any special provisions for students? 

4. Any special provisions for teachers? 

5. Does the treaty specifically allow for information sharing? 

6. Does the treaty specifically allow for relief of double taxation? 

7. Are there any major variations from the US Model Treaty of November 15, 2006? 

8. Is there anything you found surprising about the treaty?
