John Kramer, as known as Jigsaw, has decided to enter into a contract with Detective Eric Matthews for the sale of his infamous house/place of horror and all the famous instruments of torture. Jigsaw has decided to turn over a new leaf and stop terrorizing innocent people. Jigsaw proposes the sale of his personal belongings first to Detective Eric as follows: "Detective Eric, I will sell you all my personal belongings, if I feel like it, on December 1st, 2020 for twenty-five thousand dollars." Eric tells Jigsaw that twenty five thousand for his personal belongings, instruments of torture, video cameras, etc, is too much money, and offers Jigsaw ten thousand dollars. Jigsaw does not verbally answer, nods his head, but then produces a napkin for which Eric writes down the pertinent information and signs, but Jigsaw does not sign the napkin. Jigsaw says the following "I will sign it and send it back to you soon." After Jigsaw leaves Eric and is walking down the street, he sees his former apprentice Amanda Hoffman, a heroin addict and Detective Eric's minor son. Upon learning that Detective Eric may be purchasing the items, Amanda and Eric's son decide they will buy the equipment and offer Jigsaw fifteen thousand dollars for all the goods on the condition that they can secure finalize financing from a bank. They also agree on the sale of the buildings for one hundred thousand dollars also on the condition that they get financing. Now believe it or not, Jigsaw does not normally operate with contracts and Jigsaw tells Amanda and Eric's son that they have an oral agreement and the deal is done. When Detective Eric finds out about the other contract, he is angry and yells at Jigsaw "we had an agreement, I am suing you." Jigsaw then goes to his favorite restaurant and says that he needs to make an announcement. His announcement is as follows "I will give One Hundred Dollars to the first person who cleans me clean my instruments and buildings so that I can sell them to Amanda and Eric's son. An older couple with Alzheimer's says that they will accept as does several other parties. The couple with Alzheimer's, arrives at the wrong destination and cleans the entire house while the owner is away at work. When the owner gets home, the older couple demands payment. The owner refuses to pay them since he had not asked them to clean the property. The older couple decides to sue. Unbeknownst to Amanda, there is a law preventing the sale of instruments of torture. Jigsaw transfers the land to Amanda upon her receiving the financing from the bank. No real estate agreement was signed. Amanda had the deed to the property filed. Jigsaw finds another buyer for the property for more money and tells Amanda that they conveyance was ineffective for obvious reasons. Jigsaw talks about the Statute of Frauds. Detective Eric decides to purchase some instruments of torture and claim that they were used by Jigsaw. Detective Eric contacts Acme Instruments of Torture and they send his a written contract. Eric signs the contract and takes it to his local post office. A sales person from Acme realizes that they quoted Eric too low of a price and try to revoke the offer while Eric is at the post office. The contract did not specify how acceptance could occur. Detective Eric sells the fake instrument of torture to Jigsaw's apprentice, Mark Hoffman. Mark is very pleased to have these instruments supposedly owned by Jigsaw, his teacher. Mark then proceeds to attempt to sell some of the instruments over the Internet. Pumpkin Head sees the items on the Internet and decided he would like to have a few of the instruments to torture people that roam the forests by themselves. Pumpkin Head contacts Mark and asks him for a hacksaw. Unfortunately for Pumpkin Head there are two different types of hacksaws. One hacksaw is for metal and one is for human bone. Pumpkin Head actually wanted the hacksaw for bone but he failed to specify and so Mark sends Pumpkin Head the metal hacksaw. Pumpkin Head and Mark never did business prior to this transaction. Pumpkin Head sues and claims that the term hacksaw is an ambiguous terms and demands that that all oral discussions be allowed in the trial.
