Low flow seals use a lantern ring, which only sends the water into the seal itself and not directly Into the pump. The pressure difference still prevents slurry leakage, but less water is required to maintain the seal. A low flow seal is often used in situations where the pumped liquid cannot be diluted or if there is not enough water available for a high flow seal.
