Task $2-$ Secure Web and Database Servers

As they have grown, PayYouMe has found that they need to expand their services to online customers with a web application using a database that contains highly sensitive information. The web application will need to be designed to work well with both open$-$source web and database servers. The front end of the web application, which is accessed by users, is served by a web server. The web server will then need to communicate with the database server on the back end to deliver the data. The company does not want the users to interact directly with the database server.

In order to meet these requirements, you will need to complete the following steps:

Research different web and database servers.

Based on your research, provide a recommendation as to how PayYouMe should implement the chosen web and database servers. Make sure to defend your recommendations in terms of security and stability.

Task $3-$ Use a Kernel

It has been determined that the PayYouMe's Linux$-$based infrastructure requires the use of a kernel. The team does not know if they should create an in$-$house custom kernel or use a stock kernel provided by the vendor. The team has asked you to look into this and provide them with a recommendation as to which way they should go$.$
