The preference is that it is an activity that would not be done as part of a regular shutdown/turnaround. - It can be a repair, an overhaul/rebuild, reconfiguration, new equipment installation or replacement of a major piece of existing equipment in a facility, Using the learning elements from each lesson of the module, describe how the activities to be carried out would proceed through each of the processes steps of the six-step work management process. Also describe what information would be required at each stage, and what additional information would need to be provided at each point in the work management process. The assignment is to be organized to clearly show the requirements at each of the following process steps: - Identification - Planning - Scheduling - Assignment and execution - Documentation and feedback - Analysis The work activity write up should clearly show the information, responsibilities, decisions and outcomes of each of the six process steps. Any associated sub-processes should also be included. Details on how the organization's maintenance management software application (CMMS, EAM, ERP) is used to support each step and the activities performed, are to be included as part of the assignment. If the term assignment is being completed by a team, clearly identify the team members and their specific contributions to the assignment. The work must be equally weighted within the team. At the discretion of the facilitator, a team may exceed 4 persons but there must be special circumstances to warrant this size of a team. The term assignment is due for submission to the instructor/facilitator on, or before the day of the final exam. The level of detail of activities (or tasks) in the development of the plan and schedule need not exceed 25 points provided they are distributed across at least 2 levels of work. (e.g. 1 major task of installing equipment that summarizes 2-5 sub-tasks). The project may exceed 25 at the discretion of the individual or team. NOTE: If a current project is pending or ongoing in a company of one or more participants in the class and the participant(s) wish to use that project as their term assignment, this may be acceptable at the discretion of the instructor. The project should not be an activity that will be carried out completely by an outside service provider through an all-inclusive "Lump sum" bid. Portions of the work may be contracted out on a lump sum basis, but they should be included as individual work activities and shown in the appropriate sections of the assignment It is recommended that students begin working on the term assignment following Module 6 , Lesson 1 and continue to build as each of the lessons is covered.
