Major Project Part 1 Select Topic and Develop a Research Question (10%) Selecting a topic can be a difficult taskthere are so many possibilities. How do you narrow it down? Well, to start itis best that you choose a topic that you find interesting. If you find the topic interesting, then it will make the work both more enjoyable and engaging. For the purpose of this assignment, you will use the given data set to select your topic and develop a research question, run statistical analyses, and report on your findings. This will be done across three separate assignments. In this first part, you will need to carefully review and become familiar with the data set provided in Blackboard. The data set for this course is adapted from a large International Global Attitudes Project conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2013. It includes 40 countries; survey questions asked respondents to reflect on country, economic, and international safety concerns as well as moral issues, cell phone usage, and religion. Furthermore, demographic information was collected including gender, age, education level, marital status, race/ethnicity, and so on. To succeed in this assignment you will need to: 1. Examine the variables in the data set to see what you find interesting. Be sure to read both the variable label as well as the values for each to best understand how respondents answered and how the data is represented. 2. Conduct descriptive statistics (e.g., frequencies) to ensure that the variables you have selected are amenable to analysis. 3. Develop your specific research question. Describe the variables you will be using for the purpose of this assignment. 5. Write a conclusion tying all sections of your assignment together, synthesizing the information and referring back to the original research question.
