(Make an assignment on Frying pan ) Part 1 Select an object from your everyday life that GD&T and Datums could be applied to. Rigid parts are preferred rather than flimsy parts. Object has to be unique. Think of 3-5 objects within your group and send the proposals through a well-written email with all group members in the email to the instructor as soon as possible. The object which can be used for the assignment will be approved by the instructor from the proposals.

In the report, attach a graphic image of the approved object (a photograph or a scanned sketch) in JPEG format and explain your motivation or inspiration for choosing this object. Why this object? (5 points max.)

Part 2 Identify two primary functions of this part (e.g. must assemble to other part(s), smooth rolling, must not wobble when placed on a flat surface). Briefly describe the functions and identity which design characteristics/features control those functions. (maximum of 200 words). What features of this object are important to you? (5 points max.)

Part 3 Assign a minimum of two geometric tolerances ,GD&T, (including at least one that requires the use of datums) to the part to ensure that the part will successfully achieve its two primary functions identified in part 2. Assign datums as necessary. Create a sketch to show where the GD&T, and Datum(s) will be applied. Assign values for the tolerances, however you will not be marked on the magnitude of the tolerances.

CAD drawings are encouraged but not required. Any 2D, 3D cad files, or other digital tools used to create the drawing must be submitted to the instructor for review. Send them by email. (5 points max.)

Part 4 Briefly describe (maximum of 150 words) on how did you inspect to verify your part meets the GD&T controls and Datum(s) that you applied. Create sketches to show the part setup and the proposed inspection method. (5 points max.)
