Iterative Process Strength

The iterative process is an agile project management style, meaning that it doesnt depend on the set sequential steps and pre-set requirements that the waterfall method demands. This approach to project management allows for significant changes at any point through the development process, making it more adaptive to changes than other approaches, and far more flexible (MasterClass, 2022). The iterative process embraces changes and encourages them to prioritize continuous improvement.

Iterative Process Weakness

Such a high degree of flexibility may be one of the iterative processs major selling points, but it can also be the cause of scope problems that may arise. Because of the trial-and-error nature of the iterative process, the project has the potential to develop in unexpected ways that exceed the original project scope, leading to the risk of scope creep (Martins, 2022). Scope creep can undermine project completion or hinder success altogether due to exceeding the project limits.
