make the field study/case study separate, using this as a guide instead. In order to ensure that this area of research is relevant to Greater London, a field study consisting of a 5-mile walk around London was undertaken. This field study aimed to investigate if there were areas where items that could justify Grindon's theory were present in the Greater London area, in order to prove that this project was relevant to the location observed. The two case study locations (Green Man Lane and Papermill Place) were visited, in order to ensure that they could be visualised in context with the subject area. It was important to experience first-hand whether these buildings seemed safer and securer or if there were elements of 'designing out crime' which had a more ominous feel to them. Photos and comments have been included within this project of both the field study and the case studies
