Make the rats who got 1 pellet sample # 1 and the rats who got 5 pellets sample # 2
The following data are based on information from the Regis University Psychology Department. In an effort to determine if rats perform tasks more quickly if offered larger rewards, the following experiment was performed. On day 1 a group of 4 rats was given a reward of one food pellet each time they climbed a sequence of short ladders. A second group of 4 rats was given a reward of 5 food pellets each time they climbed the ladders. On day 2 the groups were reversed so the first group now got 5 food pellets for climbing the ladders and the second group now only got one pellet for climbing the same ladders. Times in seconds for the eight rats to perform this task are summarized in the data file on the moodle page:
Write out the Null and Alternative hypothesis for the following questions
A Do these data suggest there is a difference in how fast they work depending on size of reward?
B Do these data suggest rats work faster for bigger rewards?
