Data analysis is a great skill to have because it gives you the ability to read between the lines and make better-informed decisions. When data is collected, it means nothing until it is organized in one of the many programs that are available for use. Microsoft Excel is the program I normally use to conduct data analysis and visualizations. It is a great user-friendly program that enables me to figure out what the data is trying to tell me by organizing it correctly. Microsoft Excel makes it easy to sum information and calculate averages to identify certain trends.

The program we used for this class felt a tad more difficult to use. I think this is partially because I am unfamiliar with the program and its capabilities. When I used Excel, it took me a while to become proficient because there are so many different things you can do. Now that I have used it for a while, I am able to confidently dive into data and find answers to common issues.

The program used in this class offers many of the same features when it comes to creating graphs, but as far as data entry is concerned, all we had to do was upload a file that contained all the data we needed for the graphs we created. If I could change anything, I would have found a way to make the visualizations we created larger in order to show all the data they contained. The graphs that I submitted in my assignment were small, and much of the information was cut off, which doesn't allow someone to fully understand them when viewing.
