The principles of the Code of Professional Conduct of the CICC express the responsibilities of RCICs and their staff to the public, to clients, to government agencies, to the Immigration and Refugee Board, to colleagues, and to all others who are affected by professional duties and professional conduct of those in the Canadian immigration industry.

These principles guide RCICs and their staff in the performance of their professionalduties, urge them to serve honourably and with integrity, prohibit them from practice if not competent or not licensed, andobliges them to withdraw from representation if there is a conflict of interest.
