The volunteer will pull a number card from the stack of flash cards and move the same number of items to the ten-frame shown on the board. After the volunteer has modeled the first example, she will split the students into groups of four. Each student will get an expo marker, ten-frame white board, and cup of play dough. At the beginning of the activity the students may use the play dough to create their own ten-frame boards. They may use the extra pieces to represent objects to count. The volunteer will walk around and assist students if needed. The student grabs a bag of objects then counts their objects in the bag. The student will trace the number and create the number using their play dough.
