MATH 1560 Correlation Analysis Projec Create a powerpoint presentation based on your chosen correlation study. Details are as follows: You must correlate 2 different pairs of data. For each pair you need a powerpoint slide introducing each correlation and what your predicted outcome was before you investigated then a power point slide with the scatter plot of the correlation that shows the best fit line (regression line), and 'r' the correlation coefficient Then you need a conclusion slide that gives an explanation of the correlation, if any and if there were any outliers affecting the correlation. You should be sure to also include a Title slide, and a slide that shows your raw data and sources. DATA RULES: Data must come from Gapminder.org. You must include at least 20 numbers in each of your correlation variable columns when doing your scatterplots. If you cannot find enough data, you may have to change your subject. Scoring rubric is as follows: 25 pts 15 pts 5 pts Mathematics/ Computation All Equations and Graphs are correct Some Issues with graphs and/or correlations Graphs are not correct, elements missing etc... Use of Technology Scatterplots were regression lines were correct and titled and labeled correctly Missing required elements but overall correct scatterplot Multiple elements missing, incorrect scatterplot or regression line Visual Presentation Slides were interesting and helpful, appropriate amount of slides, info all correct Slides lacked originality but were correct. Seemed to be missing something Mistakes, missing required material, lack of effort Concepts Understanding Command of the concept of Correlation was demonstrated, connections were meaningful and interesting Presentation seemed to lack an understanding of correlation. Connections weren't all meaningful Too much confusion appears present. Lack of understanding is evident
