Math Savant is a web-based company that provides a learning platform where its users can post and access assignments and solutions from their math courses. Generally, faculty members are considered to own original "instructional" copyrightable works, such as lecture notes, syllabi, lab instructions, problem sets and exams. However, some have argued that students, as the "consumers" in the educational relationship, have certain ownership rights when they purchase the course, similar to a work for hire.
