1. Complete a review of peer-reviewed literature exploring the relative strength and weaknesses of

performance-based pay

2. Conduct an interview with a relevant manager to identify, describe and analyse the current reward

system in their organisation.

3. Prepare a briefing note that:

1. Synthesises recent research into reward systems highlighting the strengths and weaknesses

of pay for performance systems

2. Highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the organisations current approach with reference

to theory AND findings in peer-reviewed literature.

3. Makes recommendations for actions that need to be taken to improve the utility of the current

reward system.

To be eligible for a mark (and feedback) in this assignment you must:

Submit the completed Participant Information and Consent form to the online submission point

Ensure your briefing note is between 700 and 1000 words in length (excluding references and interview material).

Make critical reference to the findings of at least THREE peer-reviewed research papers published within a ranked journal within the last 5 years.

Include either an audio file OR transcript of the interview as an appendix to the briefing note
