MBSE is habit forming help get modeling training funded.

I had just been assigned the task of developing a model of an existing system. I didn't understand why modeling an existing system would be a useful task, but you helped me see the light. I have since discovered that modeling is habit forming!! Now, I see models everywhere I look and can't wait to learn more about how to make and use them effectively. I'm ready to attend some training on my company's chosen modeling tool, but it is very expensive ($3900). I need your help to get my training approved. I'll consolidate your input in a memo that justifies the training costs to my boss. My request for information is below:

Please share some ideas in the form of a single paragraph, grounded in best practices and your own insight, as to what the main benefits of MBSE are. My boss places a lot of daily focus on managing risks effectively, so I'm particularly interested in how models might help me manage risks to our SOI's cost, schedule and technical performance.
