MDM 4U - Data Management Project Checkpoints Checkpoint #1 - Due: March 6th, 2023 . State your thesis (must include population and time period). . State the two sub-topics you plan to explore and how they relate to your thesis. o How do these sub-topics affect your main thesis? . All raw data (in the form of data charts or graphs) collected thus far, including sources (in APA formatting). Checkpoint #2 - Due: April 6 th 2023 . Provide at least 2 summary graphs (bar graphs, circle graphs, line graphs, etc) that support your thesis. Provide in-depth analysis and state how the graph supports thesis. At least 2 scatter plots with complete analysis ie r, r, residual plot analysis, how they support the thesis, line/curve of best fit analysis. Scatter plots should give strong support of your thesis. . For each scatter plot, find the mean and standard deviation for the dependent variable. State how these values help to support your thesis. Note: DO NOT USE THE SAME DATA for summary graphs and scatter plots. You need 4 different sets of data!!Checkpoint #3 - Due: May 154, 2023 . Project Introduction (approximately one page): o State your thesis. Give background information for your topic. Provide an insight into what your research will show (give some statistics). o Briefly introduce your two sub-topics and highlight how they will help to prove your thesis. o Give a description of the steps you will take to prove your thesis. . Two Sub-Topics: o Approximately one page per sub-topic. If you have data for your sub-topics, provide full analysis. Clearly state how these sub- topics help to prove your thesis. Checkpoint #4 - Due: May 315+, 2023 . Students are to work on Survey Questionnaire for Culminating Project or summary of three newspaper articles. If you have chosen to perform a survey of your fellow high school students and/or community members, you should complete the following: Type out a questionnaire which will be handed out to your sample group (Google Forms are a good choice for this). Describe how you selected your sample group (the sampling technique you chose). Describe any bias in your local study. Provide summary graphs to illustrate the results of your survey. Provide single variable statistics (mean & standard deviation) and an analysis of these values. How the results of your survey compare with your findings from other sources. . If you have chosen to summarize three articles pertaining to your thesis, you should complete the following: Provide the actual article and its source (in APA formatting).
