Technology Guidelines Assignment
Decide what guidelines you would use for use of technology in your classroom. These guidelines will vary based on the level of students you will be working with, so be sure to make them appropriate to address issues prevalent for the chosen grade. Once you have decided on your guidelines, you will create a Technology Guidelines Student Contract using the criterion below. 1) Identify grade or grade groups, such as early childhood, elementary school, middle school, or high school. 2) List the guidelines for use of technology in your classroom. Think about handling of physical technology, internet safety, social responsibility online (digital footprint), and cyber bullying. 3) Consider appropriate times for students to use technology. For example, not while you're teaching. 4) Think about monitoring student access to inappropriate sites or games instead of the instructional or research sites assigned for assignments. After you have listed your guidelines, you may list consequences for not meeting certain guidelines, if desired. Not required. A page for students and parents to sign and date the contract.
