Unlike other improvement approaches, this approach is driven by commitment and isn't as radically implemented as others. Basically all the processes and methods are revisited and with knowledge, experience and cooperation, they are improved continuously with the changing demands, environment and organizational needs. Six sigma also promotes improvement but it is mostly focused on controlling and then improving using the statistics and reducing waste. It is a top down strict process. But kaizen is not only about numbers but also promotes the improvement of environment and processes which is a big edge over six sigma.
