Methods: This study will gather information through a mix of observation and semi-structured interviews with people who are not involved in the study.

Non-participant observation will be done in Odense's sports and fitness communities to watch and record how male vegan athletes act and interact with each other. People who are willing to talk about their experiences and thoughts on the topic will take part in the semi-structured interviews.

Field access: To get into the sports and fitness communities in Odense, the researcher will reach out to vegan athletes and fitness fans in the area who are either known to the researcher or found through online vegan communities. Then, the researcher will ask for permission to watch their training and events. The researcher will also go to relevant events, like competitions and training, to watch and write down how male vegan athletes interact with each other.

Theoretical Frameworks:The theoretical frameworks for this investigation between veganism and conventional notions of masculinity are the concepts of hegemonic masculinity and gender performance. By "hegemonic masculinity," we mean the socially idealized and therefore reified model of masculinity. The term "gender performance" is used to describe how people act in relation to gender norms in society. You can use these ideas as a foundation to learn more about the complicated relationship between veganism and conventional notions of masculinity in the realms of sports and physical fitness.

Phenomenology:Experiences of male vegan athletes in the sports and fitness groups will be investigated using phenomenological methods. To learn how people make sense of the world, phenomenologists investigate their perceptions and interpretations of events and objects through the lens of their own experiences and interpretations. The purpose of this research is to obtain insight into the challenges faced by male vegan athletes as they try to reconcile veganism with their sense of masculinity by exploring their personal narratives.

Hermeneutics and Discourse Analysis:Communication and language use of male vegan athletes in the sports and fitness community will be analyzed using hermeneutics and discourse analysis. The goal of hermeneutics is to reveal the hidden meanings and assumptions in texts or language. Discourse analysis examines how language is used to create and uphold meaning and norms in a community. The purpose of these strategies is to gain an understanding of how traditional standards of masculinity are discussed and reinforced among male vegan athletes in sports and fitness circles.
