ASSIGNMENT PURPOSE: Apply the materials from this course to a simulated recruiting and selection situation to help you understand how the various pieces of the process fit together. The job used must be a managerial role.
COMPONENTS OF ASSIGNMENT:
Write a report describing how you will advertise/market the job to attract the right candidate audience. The report must include the strategies used internally and externally, with rationale and evidence to support your approach. It must also include a strategy that considers the electronic/internet mediums.
1. Job Requirements Matrix: Must use the tool and complete task statements using the worksheet provided.
2. Job Posting: list the job and organization and includes the task statements, KSAOS, contextual performance, and counterproductive performance listed in your JRM. Also uses organizational branding and appealing language.
3. Hiring Policy: what approach will you take in terms of internal and external candidate hiring for the role. Policy must be supported by research evidence.
4. Recruitment Strategy: Provide a description of the approach you will be taking to recruit for the position (e.g. job boards, job fairs, social media, print media, organizations, referral system, headhunters, internal posting) and provide a rationale for your approach. How will applicants apply what language will you use in the postings. State how your approaches differ external versus internal candidates. Should also include how you will use social media, what platforms, and justifications for platforms. Strategy must be supported by research evidence.
5. Realistic Job Preview: describe tools, information content included in tools, and rationale for strategy.
