Problem 2[40][CLO 3, PLO 1]
An aircraft is hit by a vertical gust when it is flying at speed of 250ms(TAS) and altitude of
gradient of 50 ft . The aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 300 kN , maximum zero fuel
weight of 225 kN and maximum landing weight of 250 kN . It has a wing area of S=100m2
and the lift slope of delCLdel=5.0 per rad. The maximum operating altitude of the aircraft is 50
kft . The air density at sea level and at 25 kft are 1.225kgm3 and 0.549394kgm3, respectively.
Calculate the gust load factor according to FAR 25.341 regulation.
(a) Determine the maneuver load factor according to FAR 25.337
(b) Determine the gust load factor according to FAR 25.341(a).
