Scenario: You are a technician at an engineering software company that develops building security systems. The business is a small, family-run operation. It is very efficiently run. The owners want to look into moving to a more rural area of Southern Ontario (Uxbridge or Stouffville). The office is currently located in downtown Toronto. Moving to a smaller city could make many of the employees upset! However, this move could reduce operations costs and change the employees' lives forever. The owners anticipate that some employees who typically take transit to work and do not own vehicles will be upset by the move out of the downtown core. Therefore, the company is willing to waive any employee parking fees at the new location. In addition, your research shows that GO bus is also available and has a stop near the new relocation sites.The first relocation site is right off highway 401. It is in a new building and has a gym facility for staff to use at a reduced rate. There is also a Tim Horton's and Subway in the office complex next to it. However, there is no kitchen facility in the office itself. The office is open-concept. Above ground parking is available across the street from the building. This could be a problem during the winter months. The second relocation site is a seven-minute drive from the highway. It is also in a new building, but does not have a gym facility for staff to use. The office space is not open concept. Each staff member will have his/her own personal office space. It is in a scenic area with a lot of window space. A kitchenette is available in the office for the staff to use. Tim Horton's and Subway are approximately a seven-minute drive away. Underground parking is available in the building.
