Module 10: Safety Circuit Lab
Design a pneumatic circuit that meets the following criteria:
A two-hand safety circuit should control a single-acting or double-acting cylinder. It should be a no-tie down type-that is, it should not function at all if one pushbutton is tied down and then the other is actuated. Both pushbuttons must be pressed simultaneously to actuate the cylinder. Releasing either pushbutton will deactuate the cylinder.
While there may be more than one possible solution, you should use the equipment from the following list:
Equipment List
(2)-2P Valves
(2)-3P Valve
(2)-4P (Modified to 3-Way) Valve
(2)-4P Valve
(1)-42P Valve
(1)-4PP Valve
(2)- Check Valves
(2)- Shuttle Valves
(3)- Black Pilots
(1)- Clippard R-401 Valve
(1)- Push, Pull, or DA Cylinder
(3)- Flow Control Valves
(1)- Pressure Regulator
(1)- Pressure Gauge
Miscellaneous Tees
Procedure:
You may use any or all of the above items to design the circuit above. Additionally, you may connect the circuit in the design process. Create a rough sketch of the circuit described above. You may use the back of this sheet or your own paper. When you have your circuit rough drawing completed and have it built, have your instructor check it.
