Module 1 Writing Assignment: Who Am I? (NOTE: This assignment does not require a book to complete.) Topic: In order to talk about diversity, we need to first explore who we are in order to discuss our similarities and differences. This assignment has 2 parts - both parts are required. First, put your name at the top of your paper. I often download these as a group so I need to know who you are. There will be points deducted for not putting your name on your paper. Part 1: For this part, you will write ten (10) statements about yourself. This is your opportunity to tell me about you. These statements must be in the format of: I am ______________ but I am not _________________. For example, someone could write: "I am Iranian, but I am not a terrorist." "I am good at academics, but I am not good at sports." "I am a woman, but I am not highly emotional" Part 2: Find eight (8) pictures/images that describe you. Paste these images into your file. For example, I would paste an image of something related to music to show that I love music or a picture of my favorite band. Each picture/image should represent something different about you. Do NOT include images that reflect the same thing about you. It is up to you to decide what you want to say about yourself. To receive the highest grade possible, I need to see clear and complete evidence that: 1) Your responses are professional and polished, 2) Your responses use proper grammar, mechanics, spelling, and formatting, 3) You completely responded to each part shown above. Format: Submit your work in one file. You can use something like Word or PowerPoint. Name your file WA1_LastName_FirstName (ex. WA1_Burns_Cindy would be my file name). You will have two opportunities to submit your work. The last one submitted is the one that will be graded. Again, put your name on your paper (inside your file). Remember I am looking for quality responses that completely answer the questions and reflect thinking. Please remember that late submissions will cost you points per day. After 7 days past the deadline, the maximum points you could earn would be 20
