Module 3 Assignment 1- E-R Diagram
Overview
Review the lecture videos where Professor Xiaoxing Liu reviews and completes several E-R diagrams for entities with one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships.
Instructions
Do the review exercise 6.15 in your textbook: construct an E-R diagram for a hospital with a set of patients and a set of medical doctors. Associate with each patient a log of the various tests or examinations conducted. Each patient may have seen several doctors, and each doctor may have many patients. Each patient may have done several tests.
Answers may vary. You will need to create other entities in addition to patients, medical doctors and a patient log. You can make your own assumptions as long as they are reasonable. For example:
Patients can see only one doctor in one examination (or they can see many)
Patients tests are always done in relation to an examination ( or tests and examinations are independent).
Two Patient tests can be done at the same time (or they have to be different times)
Format
Complete the ER-diagram in MySQL Workbench, then turn in the model file, which can be saved from MySQL Workbench. When you are done, save and submit your diagram.
