Module 3 - SPSS Assignment

INSTRUCTIONS: For this assignment you will be creating and interpreting a frequency table.

Once you have opened the data, (for instructions on opening data, view the PowerPoint titled "Opening Data And Exploring SPSS" which can be found on our eCourseware by navigating to "Content" > "Accessing/Using SPSS Tutorial") follow these steps to create a frequency table.

• Click "Analyze."
• Choose "Descriptive Statistics."
• Choose "Frequencies."
• Move the following variable from the list of variables on the left to the blank "Variable(s):" box on the right: "AGE OF RESPONDENT [age]."
• Click the "Statistics" tab.
• Check the boxes next to the following options under "Central Tendency:"
  • "Mean"
  • "Median"
  • "Mode"
• Click "Continue."
• Click "OK."

Once your output has been created, either copy/paste the frequency table into your submission document or take a screenshot and copy/paste that into the document. Next, answer the following questions about the variable "age."

1. What is the mean age of respondents?

2. What is the median age of respondents?

3. What is the mode for the age of respondents?
