Module 8 - SPSS Assignment INSTRUCTIONS SOCI 3311 Module 8 - SPSS Assignment INSTRUCTIONS: For this assignment you will be generating a crosstabulation table in SPSS between respondents' social class ('class') and support for gun permit laws ('gunlaw'). Once you have opened the data, (for instructions on opening data, view the PowerPoint titled "Opening Data And Exploring SPSS" which can be found on our eCourseware by navigating to "Content" > "Accessing/Using SPSS Tutorial") follow these steps to create a cross-tabulation table. Click "Analyze." Choose "Descriptive Statistics." Choose "Crosstabs." Because "class" is our independent variable, place it in the Row(s) box. Because "gunlaw" is our dependent variable, place it in the Column(s) box. Click the "Cells" tab, and check the box next to "Row" in the "Percentages" area. (We do this because we must always request that percentages be calculated for the independent variable and our independent variable is in the rows area of this crosstabulation table.) Click "Continue." Click the "Statistics" tab, and check the box next to "Chi-square." Click "Continue." Click "OK." Once your output has been created, either copy/paste the frequency table into your submission document or take a screenshot and copy/paste that into the document. Next
