MOH is excited about giving a vaccine for preventing Covid19 virus as the chance of a person being successfully prevented by it is very high. The probability of a person being successfully prevented by the vaccine is 80%. The vaccine is given to 20 persons. i) The situation follows binomial distribution. State TWO (2) binomial characteristics in the context of problem. (2 marks) ii) Find the probability of more than 12 persons being successfully prevented by the vaccine. (4 marks) iii) If 150 persons is about to take part in the vaccination program with the probability of a person being successfully prevented by the vaccine is 96%, what is the probability that at most nine persons were being unsuccessfully prevented by it? Use a suitable approximation. (4 marks) b) The mass of a packet of biscuits is normally distributed with a mean of 125g and a variance of 16g. i) Find the probability that a packet of biscuits chosen at random from a sample will have mass between 123g and 127g. (3 marks) ii) If 70% of the packets of biscuits chosen at random have masses less than M, find the value of M. (3 marks) iii) Thirty packets of biscuits are randomly selected. Write down the sampling distribution of the mean mass and find the probability that the mean mass is less than 126g.
