Provide a compelling and inviting introduction to your reader - invite them to read your responses.

Questions

1. LEA - Behavioral Interview Question.Drawing from the LEA Leadership module, use the behavioral interviewing technique to answer the following question. Be sure to use the STAR approach and separate out each element.

Notice that this question goes beyond a traditional behavioral interview format (STAR). Use and adapt the STAR approach - go to the next level. You will need to address all the sub-questions within the format and possibly add additional sections. Be sure your response is three or more sentences per letter: S - T - A - R. Provide a brief mini-intro and mini-conclusion to your answer as outlined below.

Here is your question:

Tell me about a time that you led a difficult project. In your example, differentiate when you led compared to when you managed the project. How are these different, and why are both important?

1.1Mini-Intro. For the mini-intro, describe your reactions to the questions and how they connect with theNACE.

1.2 Situation. What was the situation you faced and the presenting issue? Scan the situation and present your mission - your goal.

1.3 Task. What was the task you had to undertake? Describe your assessment of the situation and what is required to accomplish the goal (problem and diagnosis).

1.4 Action. What happened? Tell the story of what you actually did (intervention).

1.5 Results. What were the results of the action you took (evaluation)?

1.6 Follow-up Question. Now, you get a follow-up question. These are common. The interviewer decides to go deeper with you to see how you connect complex ideas.

Describe your leadership style in the situation you just described and its impact on the results.

Also, what are your leadership weaknesses and strengths, and how can you improve your leadership competencies?

1.7Mini-Conclusion. Then, for the mini-conclusion, discuss what you learned from writing out your response to the question, along with your strategy for answering the question in regard to your dream job and ideal organization.
