Mr. Jarvis Lorry reports to the police that his blue car has been stolen from the driveway
Question:
Mr. Jarvis Lorry reports to the police that his blue car has been stolen from the driveway of his home where he had been warming it up. A few minutes later and ten blocks away Charles Darnay (whose name had until recently been Veramonte) is sitting in his red car getting ready to go to work when he sees Ernst and Therese Defarge get out of a blue car (later identified as Lorry's) and walk up to him. Ernst says to Mr. Darnay, "Get out of the car before I knock you into next week you Veramonte!" Mrs. Defarge adds, "You tell 'im love," and thrusts her knitting needles menacingly at Darnay. Darnay gets out of the car. The Defarges get in and immediately drive away. Officers find Darnay's car in Saint Antoine. Darnay identifies the Defarges from a photo line-up. After their arrest officers take the Defarges to the Bastille. The officers hold them there and refuse to feed them until they confess to their crime. After 3 days they cave in and confess that they stole Lorry's car and drove it to Darnay's house whom they knew from when Darnay was a boy and still went by the last name Veramonte. Therese had a personal dispute with Charles' father and so wanted revenge.
Name at least five of the rights outlined in the Sixth Amendment that the Defarges would be able to exercise.
