Mr. Saxena is a B.E. in Computer Science from DCE and is working as a Project Manager in a leading Software Company in India. He was an all rounder who did exceptionally well in his Studies as well as extra curricular activities. Though he secured his admission at IIM Lucknow, but due to financial difficulty he discontinued his studies and joined Company. He proved to be good and within 5 years rose to position of Project Manager. Gradually, Mr. Saxena began to feel dissatisfied with the work environment in general and his own work in particular. He wanted to get an MBA degree and as his desire remain unfulfilled, he was feeling restless. His friends appreciates his feelings and advise that he should meet his boss Mr. Bhasin. Mr. Saxena, approaches his boss and asked him to sanction study leave for two years. Mr. Bhasin was not helpful and discouraged Mr. Saxena by saying that for a talented person like him MBA degree would make no difference and moreover the company had no such policies of granting study leave.
