Mr. Zeehnul Ishfaq is an assistant manager of investment department in LR Global Bangladesh. Before joining LR global he used work under a small investment firm at an entry level post. From the very beginning of his professional career, he has been enthusiastic about developing different financial modeling's. Therefore, his expectation of learning new modeling's from his first job was very high. First three month was going very good for him as he was gaining corporate work experience, meeting different personnel's and learning corporate traits and norms. From the very beginning he was attentive to his job duty and was dedicated to the assigned tasks and the management of the firm was very happy with Mr. Ishfaq. But, after the first three month he started facing several complications on the workplace. From the very beginning his salary was very little compared to other firms in the sector. As, he was a fresher that time, he accepted the salary and joined the firm. He was attentive to his duties, worked dedicatedly and the firm started getting more projects than before. His job performance yielded positive result for the firm. As. he was paid low he asked the management for a pay raise. He expected that the management will raise his salary because of his on-job performance. But the management rejected his appraisal proposal and made a counter offer. They proposed him to take over the senior executive role with a slightly improved salary. But, with the position of senior executive, his job responsibilities would expand, but his compensation still wouldn't rise to the degree he anticipated. Which he believed would be insufficient for him to accept the senior executive position with a slightly improved salary. As a result, he declined the counter-offer. Mr. Ishfaq's offer would increase their projected spending which the management were not willing to do despite positive outcome of his job performance. Moreover, the firm used to pay its employees late. Ishfaq was irritated because of the delayed payments. He was unable to pay bills and credit balances on time due to delayed payment by the firm. In the meantime, Mr. Ishfaq started perusing CFA for his career advancement. The management used to assign him hefty tasks within a short time frame. As a result, he was forced to work beyond working hours and sometimes on holidays too. He was not happy with this excessive workload. As, there was excessive work pressure he was not able to cope us with his study. Moreover, the assigned tasks were very monotonous for Mr. Ishfaq. His expectation was that he will be able to learn different modeling techniques but he found that the firm only relies on some specific model to serve their customers. He grew exhausted and lifeless. He was lacking energy and passion for performing same monotonous task every week. He was not feeling any sort of joy in work. All these things made him inattentive to his duties and his job performance dropped. He was not getting any kind of motivation for completing his tasks. He thought he is being exploited by the management. The management used to assign him to different groups for different tasks. In some group, members were not as attentive to their job duties as Mr. Ishfaq. There used to be conflict among Mr. Ishfaq and members of the group about meeting deadlines as he was very keen to his assigned tasks. Their perception was not matching with Mr. Ishfaq. Once, a member of group joked about his physical state. He felt sad and thought he is. getting bullied because of being too slim. He complained about the matter to group coordinator but no action was taken by the coordinator in this regard. The coordinator also said get on with it, it's just a joke. After this incident Mr. Ishfaq understood that the working environment in the firm is not suitable for him. He realized that enough is enough, he must look for a new job. Unfortunately, while seeking for a better paid job, he ran into another dilemma. The recruiting firm's profile did not appeal to him as he was seeking a multinational organization. Thankfully, after a month of looking for better employment, he received a lucrative offer from LR Global Bangladesh. LR Global Bangladesh is an Investment Management firm that operates in Bangladesh as a subsidiary of LRG, a New York-based investment management firm. As Mr. Ishfaq was not satisfied with his previous job, he began to consider the benefits and drawbacks of entering a multinational investment corporation.
