I just returned from the HIMSS conference where Health Information Exchange was a major topic. I attended some of the sessions on this topic but I am still a bit confused. From what I understand, there are some requirements that we must meet in order to continue receiving our Medicare$/$Medicaid payments. This is a hot topic that I will need to discuss with our Board of Directors at the monthly meeting.

I need you to do the following:

$-$ Interpret the Medicaid$/$Medicare $2020$ program requirements. What are they? How can we be sure to keep our funding?

$-$ Analyze the privacy, security and confidentiality of HIE. What are the potential risks? What additional policies do we need to have in place to keep our patient$$s data secure$?$

$-$ Evaluate the need for information operability and exchange. What are the benefits? What are the potential risks? Is it required?
