Which condition must be satisfied for the total sum of the SVM loss functions, Eil(yi, x;) = E: max [0, 1 - yi f (x;) , to be exactly zero: O each data point must be on the correct side of the separating hyperplane (i.e. all y=1 on the side where f(x) > 0 and all y=-1 on the other side), and all the points must also be outside of the margin.
