You should notice that the Gross Requirements (demand) information for the finished tables has changed a bit (in the Week 72 Blank tab) since the week 71 planning activity shown on the Week 71 Solved tab. For the week 75 Gross Requirements we are now using the actual customer orders for week 75, whereas before we were simply substituting a forecast (average) value. You will also see that we now have demand information week 78, where we are using the forecast (average) value of 30.

You should also notice that the current number on hand (at the start of week 72) is not always equal to the number that we were planning to have (e.g. the Projected On Hand value at the end of week 71) when we planned this out back in week 71. This is because things don't always go according to plan.

As you fill out the tables, assume you would not expedite an order only for the purpose of replenishing safety stock. You may have periods in which there is a Net Requirement, but you can't back up by the normal lead time and place a new order within the current planning horizon. In these cases, leave Planned Receipts equal to zero (or blank) and just let the Net Requirement carry into the next period.

Also, don't have Planned Receipts in periods that have no Gross Requirement. You may have a period in which there is a Net Requirement (carried over from the previous period) in a period that has no Gross Requirement. In this case, leave Planned Receipts equal to zero (or blank) and just let the Net Requirement carry into the next period.
