need to do a cost benefit analysis project for recycling household waste in a small country, which depends 100% on landfilling only.
The "average" annual cost of collecting waste from homes transferring them to the main & only landfill is about 23 million B.D per year, which is a total amount paid by the government to private companies. This cost covers transportation, landfill gate charges, labour salaries, truck services and maintenance....etc.
The study I wish to do is to prove that recycling household waste and transferring them from homes immediately to a huge recycling company in the country (instead of transferring them to landfill), will save the annual costs paid by the government, please show within how many years can get cash back.
You will find attached a table with recycling costs and revenues of main items of the household waste (such as metals, plastics, paper...etc), in addition to some other statistics about annual tons of waste , with types and mean too. "organic food is not included, which is about 30% of the country's household waste".
Please, let me know if you can give answers, recommendations or scenarios to begin cost benifit analysus (CBA), (in other words, how do you suggest conducting cost benefit analysis to prove that recycling would save government cost?).
