Nested If Statement

Python does support a nested If structure. The key component when writing

these is to remember to indent your code where necessary.

In unit $1$ we saw how the Tuition example could be simplified into a series of

nested If structures. Here is the problem again:

Write a program that determines the cost of tuition. If you are an in

state resident, the tuition is $$300$ a credit hour. If you are an upper

classmen and in state $($junior or senior$)$ in state tuition is $$400.$ If you

are living out of state, the tuition is $$600$ for under classmen and

$$900$ for upper classmen. Tuition is calculated based on credit hours.

The following algorithm was developed:

In this pseudocode example we see that our algorithm includes indenting but

this is just to make our algorithm more readable.

When we translate this to Python, the indenting is absolutely necessary and is

how Python will know when one block begins and ends.

Using the above algorithm, translate the pseudocode into Python code to solve

this problem. Don't forget your indenting!
